Napoli protesters have vented their rage against president Aurelio De Laurentiis by hanging threatening banners.

The sale of superstar Gonzalo Higuain could not fail to leave a bitter taste in the mouth of all supporters of the Partenopei.

While not everyone in the city blames the president for that deal, there is a substantial portion of fans that believes the team did nothing but weaken itself on the market this summer.

The sale of superstar Gonzalo Higuain could not fail to leave a bitter taste in the mouth of all supporters of the Partenopei.

While not everyone in the city blames the president for that deal, there is a substantial portion of fans that believes the team did nothing but weaken itself on the market this summer.

In combination with the cancelled presentation of the squad and the poorly organised celebration for the club's 90th anniversary, this means that spirits have been flaring in Naples.

In the night between Thursday and Friday, a number of ultras prepared banners with insulting messages directed towards the film tycoon and hung them in various areas in Naples.

The messages included threats to 'kick' De Laurentiis and 'beat him with a stick', and are now being investigated by the city's police.
