Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan warns “we can’t make the same mistakes” in their Champions League second leg with Liverpool.

The Giallorossi were 5-0 down at Anfield in the first leg, but got two late goals to at least give them a small chance of reaching the final.

“You'd have to ask the boss, but we saw in the first leg what not to do,” Nainggolan replied when asked how to stop the Reds, sitting alongside Eusebio Di Francesco in the pre-match Press conference.

“They have good attacking players, we didn’t concentrate for the full 90 minutes and at this level you’ll get punished for that. We have to try and turn it around.

“In Barcelona we were consistent and the result flattered them – that wasn’t the case in England. We got two goals which allow us to play, but we can’t make the same mistakes.

“What happened? I don’t know… the semi-final, the emotion… I don’t know.

“We had a good start then conceded two goals before the break, so maybe it was that. Then maybe one player is mentally stronger than another, but after this game we’re stronger and more aware.

“There are a lot of things we have to improve, and we need to do better over 95 minutes.”
