“I am happy where I am and the idea of moving elsewhere at my age to have an experience that lasts a few years was frankly not of interest. I am happy, above all that we reached an agreement and can continue together.
“I proved what I always wanted. Last year there weren’t many talks for this renewal, but once we started discussing it, we got there straight away and I’m very happy with how things went.
“This has been a strong squad for a couple of years now. Players come and go, but these are issues for the club, all I can say is that the team has always been competitive.”
Roma are now reborn under new Coach Eusebio Di Francesco and Nainggolan is impressed.
“The Coach is very clear with his ideas, so we just have to put ourselves at his disposal. Obviously it’s not easy changing system, personally I’ll have to go back to the role I had three or four years ago, but I don’t think it’ll be a problem.
“The new players will certainly give their contribution and it’s good to have competition for places, as it raises the concentration levels.”
