Mayor Dario Nardella has assured that plans for a new Fiorentina stadium will be finalised ‘shortly’.
A replacement for the Artemio Franchi has been in the works for several years, but Fiorentina continue to play at the ground they have called home for the last 88 years.
However, the arrival of new owner Rocco Commisso has brought about optimism, both on and off the field.
“Everything that needs deciding will be decided together, period,” Nardiella told Corriere dello Sport.

“There have been meetings and there will be more of them. We’ve given ourselves a short time to reach a final verdict.
“I very much appreciate the position of both Rocco Commisso and Joe Barone, who said from the beginning that any decision regarding the new stadium would be made together with the mayor and the city.
“You can rest assured that this will be the decisive mandate for the new stadium.”
