Riccardo Montolivo has backed Coach Massimiliano Allegri to revive Milan following their faltering start to 2012-13.

Some reports suggest that Allegri’s future could be decided on Sunday in the game against Udinese, but the midfielder is confident that his tactician will remain.

“We’re with Allegri and he’ll be the one to lead us out of this crisis,” the Italian international told Sky Sport Italia.

“We’ve certainly changed a lot, many players have left, and this is a difficult moment for us but it can pass in an instant.”

Montolivo joined the San Siro outfit on a free transfer in the summer after his contract at Fiorentina expired. His new club have won just once in four games this term.

“I’ve had no second thoughts,” he insisted. “I’m happy to be here. We now have to find some balance and I’m certain that will happen.”

The former Atalanta player is set to return to action in Udine after recovering from a thigh problem picked up in the 3-1 win at Bologna.

“I certainly don’t have a magic wand,” he said. “I’ll just give my contribution, but all of the squad have to improve.

“I’m at the Coach’s disposal and am willing to play anywhere, although I think I’m best suited to an outside central midfield role thanks to my characteristics.”
