Vincenzo Montella insists he is “not worried” after Fiorentina’s goalless stalemate with Sassuolo.
The Viola have scored just one Serie A goal in four games and conceded two, but rattled the woodwork twice this evening.
“In all honesty, I am not worried considering tonight’s performance, as the team allowed absolutely nothing to Sassuolo and went close to scoring numerous times,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“We lacked a goal, but the team played well. It’s a shame for the lads, as they really wanted the victory.”
The goal drought is no coincidence when Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez are out on long-term injuries.
“I have a great deal of faith in Babacar and Bernardeschi, but I think it’s right not to put too much pressure on them. Between them they have scored one Serie A goal in their entire careers.
“It’s best to let them play with a relaxed state of mind.”
