The Viola had taken the lead in Turin, but missed a penalty and were beaten 3-2 by Juventus this evening.
“Incidents went against us, as we seem to be really unlucky at the moment, but the team showed unity and character,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.
“I am certain that with this attitude we will have a suitable end to this campaign and still achieve great things. I am confident for the future and believe playing like this we will get into Europe.”
Fiorentina are in the Europa League semi-final and this has proved a distraction.
“Inevitably Europe has taken its toll, not just for the physical exertions, but also the psychological strain of playing so many games. If we had faced less prestigious teams along the way in Europe, it might not have been quite so draining.
“I am certain that we must continue with this attitude and the results will come. This team has a strong soul that we can look to in difficult moments.”
