“I remember how happy I was to be coached by Zeman at Roma, but then after a few days the club changed tactician. My curiosity on what it would’ve been like remains.
“We saw with Walter Mazzarri and Cesare Prandelli this month that in football everything can change rapidly. Football moves quickly and situations change.”
Fiorentina are fresh from a 2-1 Europa League victory over Guingamp, despite playing the entire second half with 10 men.
Marko Marin had his first Viola start and scored within the opening minutes.
“He has improved a great deal in every way since arriving here. Marin has important characteristics and we want to get the best out of him. We can consider him and Mario Gomez almost like January signings!
“Joaquin sets the example for the others in terms of professionalism and hard work. He trained like a champion and proved he wants to be here.”
Juan Guillermo Cuadrado is one yellow card away from suspension in Serie A and must avoid a booking to play next week’s crunch match against Juventus.
He was in a similar situation ahead of the Coppa Italia Final, but claimed he wasn’t aware of it and was booked in the final minutes of the semi.
“I think he knows that he’s on the verge of a ban. We’ll tell him again, just in case!” laughed Montella.
