“We are a different Fiorentina to last season and now we just need the three points to get that next step up,” said Montella in his Press conference.
“This Atalanta side has achieved remarkable things and they do remind me a little of my first Fiorentina team, as we have the same desire to win and attack. This is a very difficult game and Atalanta force you to play in a different way to how you normally would. I am curious to see how we’ll respond.
“We are working on our set-play routines and ought to score more goals, as we’ve had the chances. It’s my job to get Milan Badelj and Erick Pulgar co-existing in midfield and I thought they had a great game against both Juventus and Napoli. They have different characteristics, as Badelj can read trajectories for passing very well, while Pulgar is more mobile.”
Pedro Guilherme was an expensive investment from Fluminense, but the young Brazilian is going to play for the Primavera youth team this weekend.
“Pedro is doing better, but he is a little behind the others in terms of fitness because he had an injury a few weeks ago. I told him about the Primavera option and he accepted, as he’ll get to play more regularly and find his form.”
