The goalkeeper is being linked with Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid, but the Giallorossi insist they’ve received no official offers.
“The will to sell Alisson depends on Roma,” Alisson pointed out at the Press conference to present Davide Santon and Antonio Mirante.
“We always evaluate what comes in and decide for the good of Roma above all. I don’t want to talk about replacements, because Alisson hasn’t left. If that moment comes, we’ll think about it.
“Is there a deadline? Everything has its time, if it’s August 5 at 3am… Everything has its time.
“If you believe what you read in the Press, when I leave here today I’ll have three or four calls from England and Spain, even Germany. Maybe you were distracted when I heard from the Germans…”
Former sporting director Walter Sabatini said today that he expects the goalkeeper to be sold for €70m…
“I read the interview, I’m in the habit of reading everything. Since he brought him here, he knows his value better than me.
“We know the movements of other clubs, but sometimes you get information that isn’t true. There’s nothing new, I imagine every team is looking for a new goalkeeper.
“He’s a strong goalkeeper, that’s all I’ll say.
“I have huge respect for Walter, for what he did here and his attachment to Roma.”
Alessandro Florenzi is reported to be close to a renewal, is that the case?
“It’s true that contacts with [agent Alessandro] Lucci are more frequent and I’m more confident,” Monchi confirmed.
“There’s still something missing though. If I was less confident last week, now I’m more confident but we still have to work.”
The Giallorossi are being heavily linked with right wingers, could Domenico Berardi or Hakim Ziyech arrive?
“We have Cengiz [Under], [Justin] Kluivert, [Gregoire] Defrel, [Diego] Perotti, [Stephan] El Shaarawy, [Mirko] Antonucci and Patrik [Schick] who can play there.
“So I think we have to make the most of what we have and think less about what we could get. If we remain as we are we’ll be content, but we’ll be attentive to market opportunities until the deadline.
“We have strong players, very strong.”
