Torino left-back Cristian Molinaro is facing as long as six months out after damaging the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against Empoli.
Molinaro lasted just 32 minutes of Torino’s goalless draw with Empoli in Serie A over the weekend before being forced off, and the Granata’s official website confirmed the worst in a statement.
“In the coming days he will undergo surgery, which will then be used to estimate a recovery time,” it continued.

“To Cristian, a warm embrace from all of Torino Football Club, with the hope of having him back as a protagonist on the pitch as soon as possible.”
The injury, along with that suffered by Danilo Avelar, leaves youngster Antonio Barreca as Torino’s only recognised left-back.
