Milan joint-CEO Barbara Berlusconi is apparently progressing with plans for the club’s new stadium, which Emirates will reportedly name.
The Rossoneri announced earlier this month the intention to have their new property stadium built by 2020.
Yesterday they confirmed this in finding an agreement with Fiera Milano, the owner of the area the club intend to build in, opposite Casa Milan, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.
The publication report that the new stadium will be a 42,000-seater, soundproofed from the outside, will have internal sections up to 15 metres underground to adapt to local planning restrictions on building height, and span across an area of 60,000 square-feet.
Milan sponsor Emirates are reported as set to be involved in the investment and will be lending their name to the new ‘Emirates’ stadium.
Plans see a start date for work in 2016 and completion date provisionally set between 2019 and 2022.
