Milan have proved with their recent League form that they can be title challengers next season, says Vice-President Adriano Galliani.

After losing five of their first eight League games of the campaign, the Diavolo have hit back by collecting 47 points from their next 21 matches.

“Our incredible run of form is continuing,” the official stated after the 2-0 win over Palermo on Sunday.

“We have a good squad and if we start well next term then we’ll be fighting for the title. We’ve been showing that we can compete for the past 21 games…

“The team is in good form and they’ve reacted well after the Champions League defeat to Barcelona in the week.”

As part of their climb back up the table, the Rossoneri have won all eight of their home games since the 3-1 reverse to Fiorentina.

“That’s a lot,” Galliani said when he reflected on that achievement. “Maybe the ninth will be against Napoli…

“Our fans are fantastic and they have been for the whole season. They helped us to get back up the table and I thank them for that.”

Milan are third in the table, two points behind Napoli but only three points clear of a Fiorentina side who Galliani respects.

“I’m wary of Fiorentina for two reasons,” he added. “They play good football and secondly they have a more favourable fixture list.”
