Both outlets suggest that the major barrier to the move going through is in fact the player’s own apparent preference for a permanent move, if he were to leave Stamford Bridge.
Adriano Galliani did comment on interest in Torres yesterday, confirming that at least an approach to Chelsea has been made.

If it is not, the Diavolo are reportedly then ready to target a move for Liverpool’s Fabio Borini.
However, the Reds present a similar issue for Milan, as they are reported as unwilling to negotiate a loan deal, instead only intent on an outright sale for the former Roma forward.
Meanwhile, other reports on this matter are that where Adriano Galliani favours sealing a deal for Torres, Pippo Inzaghi is leaning towards Borini, thanks in part to a reported conversation with Carlo Ancelotti.
