Tuttosport believe that the Rossoneri are currently tracking the progress of the Argentine shot-stopper as a long-term replacement for Christian Abbiati.
The 35-year-old's current contract at San Siro is up at the end of the season, and it is as yet unclear whether the Diavolo will offer him an extension.
As such, the search looks on for his successor – and the Turin daily have claimed that the 26-year-old Bluerchiati man is top of their list, alongside Mattia Perin.
Romero could be available for around €5m.
