Today's edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports of a call made by Berlusconi to Ancelotti, in which a three-year deal was offered along with an allegedly wider budget for the transfer market and the promise that il Diavolo would be competitive.
The deal is, however, apparently contingent on Ancelotti's exit terms should his Real Madrid departure be confirmed.
The 55-year-old currently has a €7.5m yearly contract with Los Merengues and an exit clause between €5m and €6m, which Berlusconi is counting on to keep Ancelotti's demands down in the first year.
Ancelotti's salary would then be allowed to rise in 2016, when the contracts with current Coach Filippo Inzaghi and former Coach Clarence Seedorf are due to expire.
La Gazzetta reports that the Coach still looks to the Rossoneri with affection, but other sources are doubtful about a return.
