Theo Hernandez has been in the spotlight lately, but Milan continue talks to extend his contract beyond 2026, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.

Milan continue talks to extend Theo Hernandez’s contract, as the French international’s current deal expires in June 2026.

Thursday’s printed edition of Il Corriere dello Sport, on page 15, reports that Theo has demanded to double his wages, going from €4m per season to circa €8m.

This salary would make him the highest-paid player on the team, ahead of Rafael Leao (€6m per season plus €1m add-ons) and new signing Alvaro Morata, who gets around €5m per season.

Talks continue while Milan expect to see improvements on the pitch after recent controversies.

Theo has had a poor start to the season at San Siro. He was first criticised for a sloppy performance in Parma, which contributed to the Ducali’s 2-1 win at the Stadio Tardini.

The 26-year-old fuelled controversies last week when he and Rafael Leao failed to join the rest of the team and Paulo Fonseca for a cooling break against Lazio.

Theo joined Milan in a €22m deal from Real Madrid in 2019 and has collected 29 goals and 39 assists in 216 games with the Rossoneri.

  1. When a coach does not get respect from his players, it’s obviously he’s not a good one. Another mercato blunder from Milan.
