Milan are reportedly looking at Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic and Lazio centre-back Luiz Felipe, as they are looking for Simon Kjaer’s replacement in January.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports the Rossoneri have started searching for a new defender, as Kjaer has been ruled out for the next six months with a cruciate ligament injury.
Stefano Pioli admitted he could have to sign a new centre-back ahead of the 2-0 win against Salernitana on Saturday and the newspaper claims he is looking at players from two of his former clubs.
Pioli: ‘We are sorry for Kjaer, we could have to intervene on the market’
Milenkovic has been linked with a move to Milan in the past and Pioli knows the defender well, as he coached him at the Viola.
It’s a complicated move, however, as the Viola are not planning to sell the Serbian centre-back and will only evaluate if the price is right.
Brazilian Luiz Felipe is mentioned as the second player on the wish list and his contract expires in June 2022, but this does not mean Lazio are ready to let him go already this winter.
Either would be fine.
Felipe Ramos whilst underrated is a player with a long history of injury problems. His ankles have given him problems throughout his career with Lazio.
Milinkovic is not at Milan’s level. A liability unless playing in a counter attacking side.
