Reports say Milan are looking to launch a new bid for Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli, while Lyon’s Samuel Umtiti could be another option.
Giallorossi sporting director Walter Sabatini said yesterday that “Romagnoli won’t be sold, he must not be sold,” but the Rossoneri are reportedly refusing to give up on him.
Tuttosport believe that Milan could close a deal for Romagnoli at €18m, despite the fact that Roma had been demanding €20m for the Italy Under-21 international.
The newspaper also reports that the Rossoneri were considering offering Stephan El Sharaawy as part of the deal, but the Lupi declined.
Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti’s name has also emerged as a possible defensive reinforcement for the Rossoneri.
Sport Mediaset believe the 21-year-old is being monitored by Milan, but that his asking price of €25m is too high for the San Siro side.
