FIGC commissioner Roberto Fabbricini believes Milan have “the support of all Italian sport” in their appeal against a UEFA ban.
The Rossoneri have been denied entry to the Europa League for breaching Financial Fair Play, but will appeal to CAS to have the verdict overturned.
“A sentence has to be respected,” Fabbricini told reporters after attending the ceremony for the Premio Giulio Onesti.
“There will be chances for the club though, there are several levels of appeal within the sporting justice system.

“Milan will go to the end and I think I can say that they’ll do so with the support of all Italian sport.
“From the moment this came up there was concern, it was important to understand where it would end. Milan is a heritage of sport and Italian football and we have to be behind them right now.
“I hope they can find a solution for the problems within the club.”

“In retrospect it’s obvious that we can try to look at it and see if there have been any mistakes, or at least negligence.
“Indubitably you always need more attention, it’s a problem that is spreading throughout the world of sport. The position of clubs is always a problem and I think something more has to be done.
“We need more attention, and sometimes also greater severity.”
