Milan have publicly thanked the clubs and fans who showed Franck Kessie support after Verona supporters were alleged to have racially abused him.
Verona were forced to release two statements on Monday, both insisting the whistles from their fans during the match against Milan were aimed at the referee.
However, rival teams and Twitter users took to the platform to console the midfielder, in disagreement with the Gialloblu’s apparent downplaying of the incident.

“We want to thank all the clubs and football fans who showed their support for Franck Kessie,” wrote the Diavolo in a tweet.
“Throughout our history, we've always honoured the values of Sport. That's why we condemn, once again, all forms of racism and discrimination: football should not divide but unite people.”
