A few days earlier, Milan got their hands on 24-year-old Roma midfielder Bertolacci in another move worth around €20m.
The ex-Genoa man is due to travel by train from Rome to Milan on Monday, where he’ll be whisked to the Casa Milan camp for a medical and to sign the contract.
This season Bertolacci scored six goals in 35 Serie A appearances for Genoa, also earning his senior Italy debut.
