Milan are looking to Sporting CP's Alberto Aquilani as a cheap midfield option.
The Rossoneri need to bolster their midfield, but they must do so within the confines of the limited initial budget provided by the new Chinese ownership.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a short-term option could be that of bringing back Aquilani, who already played for them in the 2011/12 season.

The 32-year-old originally signed a deal with Sporting CP until next year, but both the Gazzetta and Gianluca Di Marzio report that he has in fact terminated his contract and would be able to come in for free.
The Roma youth product is also believed to be considering a move to newly-promoted Pescara.
