The Coach received a Golden Tapir award from satirical show Striscia La Notizia, a common situation for those who have just been fired.

In a preview of tonight’s airing, Miha was asked what led to the dismissal.

“I am not the person you need to be asking, you’d have to ask the President. I do want to thank all the Milan fans, who were always very nice. It means they appreciated Mihajlovic as a man.

"I hope Milan win the Coppa Italia and qualify for Europe. I wish Brocchi all the best, he's a great guy."

However, he was then asked about comments from Melissa Satta, Boateng’s fiancée, who said there was an air of “tension” in the Milan locker room.

“I don’t want to seem racist, but I think women shouldn’t talk about football. They are not suited to it.”
