Sinisa Mihajlovic said Milan’s 3-0 derby demolition of Inter was “my greatest joy as a Coach” and hailed “tank Juraj Kucka.”
The Rossoneri flattened their city rivals with goals from Alex, Carlos Bacca and M’Baye Niang.
“It is certainly the greatest joy I’ve experienced since I started coaching. To win a Derby in such a clear manner was wonderful, as these games remain in history,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am especially happy for our President, as he finally got to enjoy this victory in the stadium. He is our First Fan and suffers when we don’t do well.
“We’re on a good run, beating Fiorentina and Lazio, drawing with Roma when we deserved to win. I said the second half of the season would be revenge for results in the first and so far it’s going well.
“I think we won because we made the most of our scoring opportunities, though there could’ve been even more. I told the lads at half-time not to think we were leading and had to defend a lead, but to treat it like 0-0.
“We knew the longer the game went on, the more irritable Inter would get and they’d leave us more space to attack them. We showed the kind of clinical approach that we haven’t so far this season.”
Riccardo Montolivo has been revitalised in recent weeks and become more of a solid figure than he was before.
“He works very hard and compared to earlier in his career he wins the ball back a lot more. He gives us balance in midfield as well as quality. Kucka had a great performance too.
“We knew Inter were a very physical side and I expected Mancio to mirror our tactics, because I know him well, so it was important to win the one-on-one duels.
“Kucka in that sense is great because he is like a tank, he’s very hard to challenge and goes into every tackle.
“Keisuke Honda has a very Japanese mentality, which means when you explain clearly what he needs to do, he does it. He sacrifices himself, doesn’t give the ball away often and has great technique. He should score a few more goals, but he’s one of those players who people don’t let get away with anything.”
Inter Coach Roberto Mancini is constantly chopping and changing, so how did Mihajlovic prepare for this?
“I’ve always had so many injuries to deal with that it was in a way easier for me, because I didn’t have much choice. When things go well, you try not to change it. We who understand football see the training sessions and know when there’s something in the air, when players needed only a tiny step forward to soar.”
Following this triumph, does Mihajlovic finally feel he can relax on the bench and ignore talk of a dismissal?
“In previous months I was relaxed too. I knew my conscience was clear and I could walk with my head held high.”
