The Viola had fought back after Michele Camporese's own goal, but Giampaolo Pazzini tapped in the 2-1 winner.

“I prefer to win and play well, but I think we got half of that right this evening,” commented Mihajlovic.

“We didn't deserve to lose today, as Inter scored with their only chance of the first half, while we created a great deal. Unfortunately, you pay for your first mistake against the Nerazzurri.

“My lads gave their all and played well, so it hurts to suffer a defeat like this. We're doing better now that players are returning from injury.

“We still have to improve our football, as that is how we can get better results. The crowd appreciated our efforts and it was nice to see a bit of enthusiasm again.”

Camporese accidentally turned a Samuel Eto'o cross into his own net and was beaten by the Cameroon international to set up Pazzini's winner.

“Michele made a mistake on Eto'o, but that is how you learn and develop as a player,” noted Mihajlovic. “He had a great game other than that and the youngsters are doing well for us this season.”
