Napoli’s Giandomenico Mesto says winning the Scudetto with the Azzurri would be a lifelong dream come true.
The 31-year-old is still out injured since suffering cruciate ligament damage in his right knee in November but hopes to be back soon.
“The recovery is going well,” Mesto told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, I hope to be back soon.
“The Scudetto is the target for every player and it’s also mine, so to win it would be the realisation of a dream.”
The midfielder then discussed his relationship with Coach Rafa Benitez and his hopes for the rest of the season.
“I really thank Walter Mazzarri, but with Benitez I really do have a great relationship.
“I hope to be back by the time the Coppa Italia final comes around.
“Our Champions League elimination was a shame, but I’ve said before our group was crazy.
“Now we need to think about Porto in the Europa League.
“My relationship with the city is great, I love the food.
“Whenever I can I eat pizza!”
