Galatasaray President Dursun Ozbek admits Felipe Melo’s Inter situation is ‘not clear’ and wants Gary Medel in exchange.

The Nerazzurri are believed to be close to sealing a deal for the Brazilian midfielder, but are looking to offer players in exchange rather than further deplete their transfer budget.

Despite Coach Roberto Mancini ruling out a departure for Medel, it appears he is the player the Istanbul club want.

“The situation is not yet clear,” Ozbek told Hurriyet.

Despite Coach Roberto Mancini ruling out a departure for Medel, it appears he is the player the Istanbul club want.

“The situation is not yet clear,” Ozbek told Hurriyet.

“We’ve let him have a few days to decide, between today and tomorrow the situation will be much clearer.

“I don’t know if it can be done, but we want Medel from Inter. Talks are continuing, and we want to rejuvenate the team.

“Whether the transfer continues depends on him [Medel], we want high-level players in our squad.”

Ozbek also denied rumours that Galatasaray could move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, also a target for Milan.

"Ibrahimovic is not on our agenda. The cost for the player is too high, it's not a sum we can afford."
