FIGC President Giancarlo Abete and Lega Serie A President Maurizio Beretta confirm a series of meetings to call off the strike.

The Players' Association (AIC) announced it will hold a strike on the weekend of December 11 and 12 in protest at the problems renegotiating the collective bargaining contract.

A meeting was held today between the FIGC and Lega di Serie A, while more are planned on Monday.

“Our objective is to avoid the strike taking place,” explained Federation chief Abete.

“Our objective is to avoid the strike taking place,” explained Federation chief Abete.

“During today's meeting we tried to understand where the negotiations are right now and how we can find common ground. We hope it was useful for something.”

The Lega Serie A is the union of top flight clubs and their President, Beretta, also commented on the meeting.

“For now we are working to advance the situation and tomorrow there will be another get-together, but without the AIC.

“It was an informal meeting. We are looking at the overall situation and work is on-going. The confirmation of the strike is not up to us, but the AIC.”
