Guardiola is currently taking a year out after phenomenal success at the Nou Camp, but Mazzone wouldn’t be surprised to see him in Serie A sometime soon.
“I haven’t heard from him in a while, but I don’t think he wants to stop coaching at his young age,” the veteran told Il Sussidiario.
“I think he’ll work in Italy one day. I don’t know when, but I have this impression.
“He phoned me once and told me that he’d come to see me. I asked whether that would be as a tourist or as a Coach of an Italian team. He said both.
“I think he could be working in the city of Milan next year, but I don’t know whether at Inter or Milan. I can’t see him with any of the Roman clubs.”
Milan have been linked with the Spaniard given the uncertainty over the future of Massimiliano Allegri.
Guardiola refused to speculate on his future during a charity event at the weekend.
