Walter Mazzarri has apparently warned his Inter players to shape up for their final pre-season match, ahead of then entering the Europa League.

The Nerazzurri will play PAOK Salonika on Thursday, before then meeting with Icelandic outfit Stjarnan in the Europa League Play-off round next week.

The Gazzetta dello Sport are running the line that defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt over the weekend set off alarm bells and saw the team’s Coach issue them with a warning.

“The tour of the United States made us believe that we were already strong,” Mazzarri has apparently told his players, according to the pink daily.

“What interests me is that there are no such mistakes against Stjarnan in Iceland.

“Certainly against PAOK we must have a different attitude because in football today if you get distracted then you risk making a bad impression.”

Mazzarri did complain after the Eintracht defeat that his players had ‘no excuses’.
