Torino boss Walter Mazzarri has warned Simone Zaza that he will have to remain patient if he is to become Andrea Belotti’s strike partner.
Zaza only joined Torino on deadline day earlier in the month, but Mazzarri made it clear his club’s big outlay on the Italy international would not guarantee him a starting place.
“It’s also either Zaza or Belotti for the national team,“ he told Sky Sport Italia after his side’s 2-2 draw with Inter on Sunday.

“Zaza came very late. I spent a month and a half of preseason trying out certain mechanisms.
“I gave [Roberto] Soriano his debut as a playmaker on the right wing. We raised our centre of gravity with him.
“The others know the mechanisms. Now I have to understand if Zaza is able to make the right moves alongside Belotti.
“I have to change a lot of things to let them play together.”
