Walter Mazzarri admits Napoli “ran a huge risk, but thankfully it went well” after a last-gasp 3-2 win over Cagliari.

The Partenopei had gone behind, then were caught on 2-2 before Lorenzo Insigne’s late winner.

“We struggled today, as Michael Agazzi was phenomenal in goal. Edi Cavani had two or three scoring opportunities and got a bit anxious when they wouldn’t go in,” said the Coach.

“During the half-time break I focused on calming Cavani down and he did much better in the second half.

“We ran a huge risk and could’ve thrown points away today, but the team put in a great performance and thankfully it went well. Cagliari are an impressive side and their recent results confirm that.

“I tried using four strikers at the end and we did well to prevent counter-attacks in that situation. We created so many chances and deserved the victory.”

Napoli could now extend their lead in second place, as this evening Milan go to Juventus.

“I don’t know if I’ll watch that game. If I’m out to dinner, I expect it’ll be on television somewhere.”
