Walter Mazzarri admits Lazio “deserved the win and proved they’re in better form” than Torino at this moment.
The Granata were beaten 1-0 on home turf by a Sergej Milinkovic-Savic header after Salvatore Sirigu saved Luis Alberto’s first half penalty.
“I am trying to evaluate all the young players in the squad, but can only realistically try one at a time against the big teams,” Mazzarri told Sky Sport Italia.

“Lazio are a strong side, they are in good shape physically and their confidence is up. We tried to put up a fight, but they deserved the win and proved they’re in better form right now.
“Unfortunately, over the last couple of weeks we’ve come up against sides in better shape. Adem Ljajic wasn’t as sharp as usual either, but we’re still testing for the future, including tactical systems and personnel.
“I prefer to have fewer players, but of greater quality, of course always based on what the club can provide. You have to focus on what you believe in.”
