Walter Mazzarri believes he has what it takes to “achieve something great” at Torino ahead of Sunday’s match against Sassuolo in Serie A.
Mazzarri guided Torino to a 3-0 victory over Bologna in his first match at the helm, and the former Watford boss thinks he can end the Granata’s 27-year wait for a major trophy.
“It’ll be an exam to see if we’ve improved after the good things we showed against Bologna,” he said at a Press conference.

“The next game is always the most important: I’ve already told the lads. I don’t want any more drops in momentum, for example.
“It lasted for three minutes against Bologna and they won a penalty. You can pay for these things.
“Tactics? It’ll take time for the players to learn my ways, but they’re showing great willingness.
“They’ve worked really well since coming back from Christmas. If I’m here, it’s because I think we can achieve something great, otherwise I wouldn’t have come in.
“This great club deserve it. We’re thinking positively. There are conditions for us to do well.
“The important thing is that we create unity with the fans, a single body. Technical values aren’t enough on the pitch. You also need team spirit and a soul.
“Fans watching us train? It gave me chills. I’m someone who needs strong stimulation, and these things give me that spark. It was beautiful.
“I’d like to be able to do something great at a club that deserve it, but it’ll take time.”
