Juventus dg Beppe Marotta reassured Roberto Pereyra they “certainly intend to take up” their option from Udinese.
The 23-year-old completed his transfer from Udinese for €1.5m on loan with option to buy for €14m at the end of the season.
There is also a clause for a further €1.5m based on performance-related bonuses until June 2020.
“You know Roberto Max Pereyra well, as he played the last three seasons at Udinese,” said Marotta at the start of the Press conference.
“He showed himself to be one of the best young players in Serie A. He started out at River Plate and slowly grew to make his mark in Italy.
“He is a modern and versatile player who can take on different roles, which is the reason we pushed on the negotiations with Udinese until we found an agreement.
“The transfer is initially a loan with option to buy, which we certainly intend to take up. We are proud to have him here, as Max is one of the most interesting young players in Serie A.”
