Villarreal Coach Marcelino concedes whoever went out in their Europa League clash with Napoli “it would’ve been unfair.”
The Spaniards went through 2-1 on aggregate after a 1-0 win in the first leg and 1-1 draw at the San Paolo, decided by a misplaced cross that turned into a goal.
“Napoli attacked a great deal, including at the Madrigal,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“At the start of tonight’s game we had the chance to finish off the tie. Then Napoli opened it all up again with a great goal scored by a great player, Marek Hamsik.
“The match was in the balance until our goal. It was all affected by the result. I think that the final part of the game was dominated by our goal and therefore Napoli’s need to score another two.
“If we had gone out, it would’ve been unfair. At the same time, it is not right that Napoli go out, even though they didn’t have a shot on target in the first leg. Tonight they put in a great performance.
“Napoli are very strong and didn’t seem a side physically or psychologically tired. Perhaps they have a strong opponent in Serie A in terms of revenue, but Napoli are incomparable to any other team in Italy.”
