Rolando Maran saw “an incredible performance” from Chievo, making the 1-1 result against Udinese all the more frustrating.
They had dominated the first half and gone in front through Ivan Radovanovic’s scorcher, then saw a second ruled marginally offside, but Nenad Tomovic scored an own goal to level it.
“Above all in the first half, we put in an incredible performance,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“There are more than a few regrets, because we struggled a little after the break and seemed to be intimidated. Yet we had numerous chances to double our lead in the first half and then found ourselves unexpectedly going into the break on level terms with Udinese.
“I would be worried if we hadn’t put in a first half of that calibre. Despite a difficult run of form right now, the team fought it out and played very well against an Udinese side coming off five consecutive victories.
“We allowed a few counter-attacks at the end and should not have done that. Mattia Bani did very well on his Serie A debut, he was calm and focused.”
Roberto Inglese was not even on the bench due to injury, but Chievo are trying to stop Napoli take him in the January transfer window, even if the Partenopei already bought him for €10m.
“We are in the running for our objective and Inglese is one of our most important players. We must fight to stay in Serie A and need everyone’s support to achieve that.”
