“There hasn’t been much time to assimilate certain movements and ideas, above all because we sold seven players over the last few days, so of course it’s all going to be more complicated,” said Maran in a press conference.

“This team is continually evolving, but we need to make up for the lack of a well-drilled approach by providing a stronger mentality and spirit of sacrifice.
“We’re trying to create a precise identity for this team, there’s a lot of work to be done and we mustn’t use the delays as an alibi. If anything, we should use people’s lack of faith in us as extra motivation.”
This morning, Genoa announced that Marko Pjaca had arrived on loan from Juventus and Davide Zappacosta from Chelsea.
“I’ll speak to them and see if they can be used from the start or off the bench. Ivan Radovanovic has played in defence before and at the moment we are testing him in that role.”
Domenico Criscito and Stefano Sturaro are along the players out injured for Genoa.
