Diego Maradona fired up Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain ahead of the Milan game on Sunday evening.
The centre-forward received a text message from the club legend who bossed him while the latter was in charge of the Argentine national side.
“Go and score at San Siro,” were the words of encouragement which were reportedly sent to the summer signing.
Higuain did just that as the Stadio San Paolo outfit maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with a 2-1 win.
It was the club’s first victory at Milan in Serie A since 1986 – a time when Maradona was the main man in Naples.
Higuain, netted for €37.5m from Real Madrid, has scored three goals in four League games so far since replacing Edinson Cavani in the side.
The latter was sold to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer for a massive €64.5m.
