Andrea Mandorlini hopes “it will be a very different game” against Juventus on Sunday after Verona lost 6-1 in the Coppa Italia.
By a curious twist of the fixture list, this match will be repeated in Turin on Sunday evening in Serie A.
“Anything can happen in a one-off encounter,” said Hellas Coach Mandorlini on Rai Sport.
“We started off well, then just collapsed and it was virtually over with 3-0 at half-time. We were too soft in many duels against a quality side. We made too many mistakes and these are the consequences.
“It will be a very different game on Sunday and we’ll try to learn from tonight’s errors. I hope and am indeed certain that it’ll be a whole other story at the weekend.
“This was an ugly defeat, but we must turn over a new leaf straight away, think of Sunday’s game and what must be a strong second half to the season in order to achieve safety.”
