Inter Coach Roberto Mancini is ‘bothered’ by talk of third place, and promises that next year his team will be ‘fighting for the Scudetto’.
The Nerazzurri are currently ninth in the standings after a convincing 3-1 victory over Genoa, and sit six points behind the final Champions League qualification spot.
Form of late has encouraged the Coach, albeit if the target feels unfamiliar.
“We lost the first two matches, but we have been growing rapidly,” said Mancini in an interview with the Corriere della Sera.

“I'm here because I believe Inter can return to being what it was.
“I'm here to provide change. Having to think of the third place bothers me a little, next year we'll be fighting for the Scudetto.”
Mancini discussed the approach of giving written instructions to his players, passed on within the team.
They were seen for the first time on occasion of Lukas Podolski's coming onto the Inter-Juventus game, when the striker was given a written piece of paper with directives for Andrea Ranocchia.
“I had that idea at Galatasaray, in Turkey. I had a language barrier, as I spoke English while they spoke Turkish.
“It worked. Written instructions are simple and immediate, and I'll keep using them.”
