Roberto Mancini said Inter “can do much more in terms of performance” after a 3-1 victory over Sampdoria.
The Blucerchiati had more possession and shots on goal at San Siro, but the Nerazzurri rediscovered their clinical edge.
“Considering the difficult moment, I am satisfied. It was important that we not get too detached from the top three,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Considering the difficult moment, I am satisfied. It was important that we not get too detached from the top three,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“Delicate moments like this don’t pass with one victory. There was some tension around the game and that’s only to be expected.
“We have three points, that’s good. We were compact and didn’t concede many chances, though we allowed Sampdoria to play more in the first half. This is the way we had to play.
“I told my forwards they were too wide and stretched out in the first half. The forwards need to play closer together so they can combine.”
“Maybe we’ll have another training retreat before Juventus, seeing as it brought us good luck,” he smiled.
Marcelo Brozovic and Geoffrey Kondogbia will be suspended for the Derby d’Italia.
“I think Brozovic will become a great midfielder in time. He is improving game by game, but at a certain point in the match he loses his position, so in my view he still has a lot more work to do.
“After eight minutes we allowed several crosses in. We’ve improved and did better as time went on, so we are more solid.
“What gives me hope is the three points. In terms of performance we can do more, absolutely, but I think we probably need a few wins to get that confidence back.
“We can be a little too humble, as we often give the idea we’re under pressure and yet go and score on the counter. These are moments we need to overcome. This is football.”
