Roberto Mancini was furious with Inter after “four or five of my players acted as if this was a training session” against nine-man Udinese.
They scraped a 2-1 result at the Stadio Friuli with Maurizio Domizzi and Emmanuel Badu sent off.
“I don’t understand why after two red cards some of my players stopped and just passed the ball around meekly,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

They scraped a 2-1 result at the Stadio Friuli with Maurizio Domizzi and Emmanuel Badu sent off.
“I don’t understand why after two red cards some of my players stopped and just passed the ball around meekly,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.
“I don’t get how we played much better with 11 men against 11 than 11 against nine. We will have to talk about this, because it’s unacceptable that we could put this result at risk.
“Sometimes the team just doesn’t think. They have brains and need to use them. Once Badu was sent off, four or five of my players started acting as if this was a training session or a summer friendly. It’s unacceptable.
“The team played, Udinese are in great shape and proved that against Milan. I thought we did really well until the dismissals. I did not like the attitude and we are not a team who can afford to behave like that.
“We got into situations where there were three or four players clear on goal and we started passing them to each other, like gentlemen saying ‘you score, no you first’ and then risk conceding the equaliser on a corner.
“I tell the players they need to use their heads and concentrate. They must pass the ball around with a specific plan, not as if they’re shuffling letters.”
Lukas Podolski finally broke his goal duck at the 13th appearance, but will go back to Arsenal next season.
“There is an agreement with Podolski that he would come here for six months and return to London. I’m happy that he scored, as he’s been unlucky this season and has always been a real professional.”
Hernanes has become a key player in his trequartista role, having initially been dropped by Mancini.
“He is playing now because he deserves to play.”
