The former Inter and Manchester City Coach only took charge of Zenit last summer and has led them to second in the Russian League, as well as the Europa League last 32.
It also comes after new FIGC commissioner Roberto Fabbricini suggested Under-21 boss Luigi Di Biagio may not oversee Italy’s friendlies against England and Argentina next month.
However, it remains to be seen whether the Russians will let Mancini talk to the Azzurri or if they can afford to buy him out of his contract.
