Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini asked about the availability of Thiago Silva during talks with Milan on Monday.
The tactician was spotted at the club’s HQ in Via Turati where he spent around 30 minutes with Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani.
Although Mancini insisted that the visit was just a courtesy call, there were rumours that the futures of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli were discussed.
However, according to all three of Italy’s major sports newspapers on Tuesday, their discussion was actually based around Thiago Silva.
The new Premiership champions want the Brazilian centre-back who is also of interest to Spanish giants Barcelona.
The Gazzetta claims that City offered Italian international Balotelli in exchange for the stopper, but the Italian club value the South American at €50m.
Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri, however, has insisted that the club will not sell Silva or Ibrahimovic this summer.
“The club and the President want to maintain the high level of the squad,” Allegri noted. “Ibra and Thiago are two champions on which Milan can build from.”
