“I am happy to have come back home after a few years around Europe,” said Mancini at the Christmas dinner.

“I don’t know why I returned, but I think I did it for the affection that ties me to this club. It won’t be easy, but I thank those people behind the scenes and I tell them the team will do everything to get into the Champions League, not the Europa League.

“We will try our best and I think the lads will give their all: I hope that can be our Christmas present.

“I take this opportunity to wish happy holidays to President Thohir, Moratti and all of you.”
