Maicon was included in the squad list which has to be submitted to UEFA – unlike Julio Cesar and Giampaolo Pazzini – but he won’t feature this week.
His omission may not be for purely tactical or fitness reasons as the player could still leave the club this summer as his contract expires next June.
Should he play in Europe for Inter, then he would be Cup-tied for the rest of the campaign if he does move on before September.
Real Madrid and Chelsea have been linked with the right-back.
