Lazio’s Senad Lulic admits his side blew a ‘big opportunity’ to secure Champions League qualification following a 2-2 draw at Crotone.

Victory for the Biancocelesti in Calabria would have seen them guarantee their return to European football’s premier club competition.

Lazio’s Senad Lulic admits his side blew a ‘big opportunity’ to secure Champions League qualification following a 2-2 draw at Crotone.

Victory for the Biancocelesti in Calabria would have seen them guarantee their return to European football’s premier club competition.

However, they were held to a draw by Walter Zenga’s relegation strugglers and will now face a winner-takes-all final day meeting with Inter next weekend.

“It’s a big missed opportunity,” Lulic told reporters. "Now we’ve got it all to play for on the last day against Inter.

“We can make it, but it’s a shame that we let in two goals today. We know what we have to do.

“Now we need to see whether any injured players come back. We need to recover our energy.

“We deserve the Champions League, it would be a shame to throw it all away now.

“We will fight in order to finish the season well.”

A draw against Luciano Spalletti’s team at the Stadio Olimpico will be enough for Lazio to secure a top four spot.

Should they lose, however, they will drop below the Nerazzurri to fifth.
