Joachim Low has all but confirmed that Miroslav Klose will make his 23-man Germany squad for the World Cup.

The Lazio veteran was included in Die Mannschaft’s provisional 30-man group named yesterday and, should he go to Brazil, is in with a chance of breaking Ronaldo’s all-time goalscoring record at World Cup finals.

“He will play in his fourth World Cup, he has also played in several European Leagues, he is a player that is able to excel in competitions like these," Low has explained in quotes picked up by TuttoBundesliga.

“In spite of his injuries, including League and Cup games he has played more than 25 games and is in good shape.

“Recently he was injured, but Miro is very familiar with his body, he knows how to manage himself and I think he will be very important for us.

“He can help us because of his great motivation, this will be his last World Cup.

“How important is he away from the field? He can make up the rooms, or work as a handyman. He is good with a nail and hammer, should he be required.”
